History

  • 1932: Duvall Women's Civic Club opens an 800-square-foot library with WPA funds
  • 1940: Duvall's first librarian is paid $35 a month
  • 1957: $3,681 State Library Development Fund grant helps stock the collection
  • 1988: Completion of a 2,800-square-foot expansion
  • 1993: KCLS annexation
  • 1998: Public Internet access is provided
  • 2012: 600 people attend the opening of a new, 8,000-square-foot library

Duvall Library Advisory Board

Library Advisory Boards are established by individual cities that have annexed to the King County Library System (KCLS). The Duvall Library Advisory Board, whose members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council. The Board coordinates with and provides input to the Board of Trustees of the King County Library District and local library officials.

The Duvall Board meets from 6-7 pm on the first Monday of the month in the meeting room at the Duvall Library.
